The Dining Room
In the intimacy of the two AA Rosette panoramic Dining Room, Executive Chef Michael Cole creates wonderfully distinctive dishes inspired by the Lake District and its coastline. Herdwick lamb, rare breed cattle, local fish and shellfish as well as local artisan cheeses, come together in the most delicious fashion.
The menu sees new dishes introduced daily and allows us to offer whatever has come off the fells or the boat, celebrating the best of modern British cuisine.
Dinner and lunch is available to non-residents by advance booking only, please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your booking time.

An all day menu is available in the lounges and bar, with stunning views out over Lake Windermere and the Lakeland fells. Enjoy classic dishes with a delicious Langdale Chase twist, New England lobster rolls, club sandwiches and our trademark 1807 Burger form the backbone of an all day menu.

On warmer days, enjoy our terrace. Created by renowned garden designer Thomas Mawson, our terrace offers unspoiled views over his famed garden and towards the Langdale fells.

We invite you to enjoy a journey of adventure through the tale of Arthur Ransome’s Swallows & Amazons. Inspired by the beautiful landscape that surrounds us. An inspiration for writers, poets and artists, which to this day inspires local crafts people. When setting out to create our fabulous afternoon tea, we wanted to showcase how the landscape continues to inspire. From local hand thrown potters to woodwork craftsmen, there’s more to our afternoon tea than you realise…

Non residents are welcome but don’t leave it to chance, with a seasonally changing menu make sure you book a table whether popping in with friends or staying for the weekend.

Our talented chefs do their best to adapt our dishes to suit your dietary requirements, or where it’s not possible we’ll create you something unique with what we have in the kitchen. Please let us know when you book so we’re prepped for your arrival.
